The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic swept across the US in less than a week, effectively shutting down life as we had known it. The pandemic has impacted businesses of all sizes across a number of different industries. However, the first industry to be impacted was the restaurant industry and it is perhaps the hardest-hit industry to-date.
On March 16th, Governor Gretchen Whitmer issued an executive order to temporarily close all restaurants, bars, and coffee shops for in-house dining. Things further escalated on March 23rd with the state’s shelter-in-place order. Restaurants, bars, and coffee shops are still allowed to offer pick-up and delivery options, but business has slowed to a near full-stop for many restaurants and staff such as servers, door attendants, and bussers are currently without work.
It’s more important now than ever before to support local businesses and give your favorite restaurants your patronage. At Budget Branders, we take great pride in being a part of the local Grand Rapids community with all of the excellent eateries the city has to offer.
